Bulk supply
Bulk oolitic aragonite supplier.
Natural marine calcium carbonate from The Bahamas, supplied in bulk as four graded products and as blends sized to a written specification.
What you are buying
One deposit, one documented chemistry, four graded products.
Oolitic aragonite is a marine-origin calcium carbonate that forms as rounded, concentrically layered grains on the Great Bahama Bank. AragoCor collects, dries, screens and sizes it mechanically — there is no calcination step and no quarry blasting — and supplies it as the orthorhombic aragonite polymorph, distinct from the calcite that makes up quarried limestone.

The orthorhombic calcium-carbonate polymorph, of Bahamian marine origin.
U.S. mesh across the graded products, plus blends sized to a written spec.
Grades
Select on particle size, then confirm the chemistry.
Every grade comes from the same deposit and shares the composition above. What separates them is the sieve distribution, which is what the receiving process actually reacts to.
| Grade | Product | Particle size | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|---|
| AG-CAL | Agricultural sand-grade | 0.2–0.5 mm | Soil-test-driven calcium and pH programs, growing media, turf |
| GL-CAL | Glass batch feed | Below 0.1 mm | Container, flat, solar, fiberglass and specialty glass batches |
| WT-CAL | Water-treatment media | 1–3 mm | Contactor remineralization, pH adjustment and filtration |
| PL-CAL | Functional filler | Sized to spec | Polymers, coatings and specialty calcium-carbonate uses |
| Custom blend | Blended to specification | Mesh 20 to 325 | Application-specific programs |
Sending an enquiry
Six inputs turn an enquiry into a quote.
A bulk price depends on grade, sizing, volume and where the material has to land. Sending these together removes a round trip.
- Grade or written specification — an AragoCor grade code, or the specification your process already runs to.
- Particle-size requirement — the sieve distribution, top size or mesh range the application and equipment need.
- Volume and cadence — tonnage per shipment and across the year, so the supply plan is quoted against real demand.
- Destination — the plant, port or delivery point, which is what freight is quoted to.
- Packaging and handling — the format your receiving, storage and metering equipment expects.
- Documentation — the analytical, safety and listing documents your quality or procurement process requires.
Qualifying a supplier
What a procurement or quality team asks for first.
Chemistry against the application
The 96.17% CaCO3 composition and 38.51% elemental calcium are representative analysis from ASTM C 25 testing, not a guaranteed minimum. Grade documentation carries the values that apply to the supplied product.
Particle distribution
Sizing governs reaction rate, blending, dust, conveying and equipment fit. Compare the delivered sieve distribution rather than a grade name.
Documentation set
Grade specifications, analytical documentation, the safety data sheet, the OMRI listings and source documentation are available on request through the contact form.
Origin and chain of custody
Material is sourced in The Bahamas through Aragosan Minerals Limited, and source documentation is available for buyers whose programs require it.
Why buyers specify it
A carbonate chosen for form and origin, not only for assay.
Two carbonates can share a formula and behave differently in a process. These are the properties buyers cite when they specify oolitic aragonite by name.
Distinct mineral form
Aragonite is the orthorhombic polymorph of calcium carbonate. Under comparable acidic conditions it can dissolve more readily than calcite; pH, temperature and particle size govern the result.
High-purity feedstock
Composition is 96.17% CaCO3 with 38.51% elemental calcium, from a single marine deposit rather than a blend of quarry faces.
Oolitic morphology
Rounded, concentrically layered grains influence flow, packing, blending and dispersion behavior in handling and formulation.
Documented origin
Bahamian marine origin, collected and mechanically prepared without calcination, with source documentation available.
Questions
Frequently asked questions.
What is oolitic aragonite?
Oolitic aragonite is a naturally occurring calcium carbonate that forms in warm, shallow marine water as ooids — rounded grains built up in concentric layers. It is the orthorhombic aragonite polymorph of CaCO3, mineralogically distinct from the calcite that makes up quarried limestone, and it carries CAS number 1317-65-3.
What grades and particle sizes are supplied in bulk?
Four graded products: AG-CAL at 0.2–0.5 mm, GL-CAL below 0.1 mm, WT-CAL at 1–3 mm and PL-CAL sized to specification. Blends are produced across mesh 20 to 325 for application-specific programs.
How much calcium does the material supply?
Elemental calcium is 38.51%, from the same ASTM C 25 analysis as the 96.17% CaCO3 composition. Both are representative analysis, and both are what the controlled technical sheets publish.
Is the material OMRI Listed?
Yes. The crop fertilizer listing is avw-23214 and the livestock feed-material listing is avw-23215. OMRI operates a listing program, so the correct description is OMRI Listed rather than certified.
Where does the material come from?
It is sourced in The Bahamas, on the Great Bahama Bank, through Aragosan Minerals Limited. Source documentation is available. AragoCor is headquartered in Stockton, California, with distribution areas described on the locations page.
How is a bulk price quoted?
Send the grade or written specification, the particle-size requirement, the tonnage per shipment and across the year, and the destination. AragoCor matches a grade to the requirement and quotes the supply program against it.
