What it is

Natural oolitic aragonite, in one view.

Oolitic aragonite is a naturally precipitated, marine-origin form of calcium carbonate from the Great Bahama Bank. It occurs as rounded, layered ooids and has the orthorhombic aragonite crystal system, distinct from the calcite common in quarried limestone.
