The resource

Ooid sand is precipitated, not mined.

Each ooid is a tiny sphere of calcium carbonate that forms as warm, calcium-saturated seawater rolls it across the shallow banks. The banks are among the most productive carbonate factories on Earth — depositing new material continuously as the tides move over them.

Because we take from an actively depositing system rather than a fixed ore body, responsible extraction works with a renewing supply — not against a finite one.

Low-impact harvesting

Suction-dredge methods sized to the deposition rate, with mapped no-take zones over sensitive habitat.

Reef & seagrass care

Ongoing monitoring of adjacent reef and seagrass beds, with harvesting paused where surveys flag stress.

No kiln, no calcination

The ocean does the chemistry. We only wash, dry, and size — a fraction of the energy of mined lime.

Transparent reporting

Annual stewardship findings and lot analyses shared with customers and evaluators on request.

Carbon & energy

Nothing kilned. Less carbon in the bag.

Mined lime is quarried, crushed, and often calcined in high-temperature kilns — a process that releases CO₂ twice over. Aragocor aragonite arrives pre-formed by the ocean. We wash, dry, and size it. No blasting, no kiln, no calcination.
