Oolitic aragonite is a natural calcium-bearing mineral input for animal-feed formulations. Composition is 96.17% CaCO3 with 38.51% elemental calcium. The livestock feed-material listing is OMRI avw-23215.
- Calcium contribution. The 38.51% elemental calcium figure is the input for calculating its share of calcium in the total ration.
- Acid-condition behavior. Aragonite and calcite have different crystal systems. Any solubility comparison must use the delivered particle size and the formulation-relevant test method.
- Particle distribution. Sizing affects mixing, segregation, dust, handling and exposure throughout feed manufacturing.
- Quality controls. Grade chemistry, the safety data sheet and the lot certificate of analysis support finished-feed formulation and manufacturing controls.
